Antebellum is the forerunner release to the second Montage Collective album "Outliers" scheduled for release in late 2023.

The core instruments were recorded live and impromptu in one take using three hardware synths. Vocal samples, overdubs and other instruments were added later.

Antebellum was performed specifically with "Outliers" in mind. It is a soundtrack to the meditation required prior to battle, be the confrontation physical or spiritual, with an outside force or within.

I asked Pia Nesvara who is an incredible songwriter, singer, guitarist and violinist if she would recite the poem "The Shadow of the Wing" by Amado Nervo in Spanish. Fortunately Pia agreed. I had also started working with RIchard Davies from the UK for "Outliers" who adds his wonderful sax improvisations.
